We spent most of the day at Rockburn Branch Park. A flyover GREAT EGRET was unusual for the park. A FEMALE WILD TURKEY enticed us into the woods and as we searched for her we flushed a BARRED OWL. We ended up with 19 warbler species for the day but not high numbers. A male CAPE MAY in the balsam tree by the "haunted house" was spectacular. A MERLIN in the yard along with a PINE SISKIN on my feeder.
Personally we had near 100 species. Overall, the final numbers for the county were not compiled but it looks like we may have hit close to an all time high.
