This afternoon while wandering through the woods here in Bowie, hoping to add some species to my May Count list, I came across a surprising and loud ruckus not too far ahead of me.  This momentary racket was unusual to me except for the part that sounded like the croaking of Great Blue Herons.  I never saw nests or the birds but I am hoping that someone with more experience with this type of situation will come to check it out.  This is near Jericho Park Road in Bowie; there's a stream and braided seeps.  Anyone interested is invited to park here at the house and to wander into the woods.  Contact me off-list.
