The Talbot Bird Club, led by Les Coble, visited Terrapin Park and a few
other sites on Kent Island on Sunday. A pocket of feeding birds around a
White Mulberry Tree provided the major highlights of the trip. In or near
the tree were:
Cedar Waxwings - over 20
Northern Waterthrush - 2 - singing - a small stream was close to the
tree
Northern Parula
Yellow Warbler
Prothonotary Warbler
Blackpoll Warbler
Pine Warbler
Myrtle Warbler
Black-throated Blue
Common Yellowthroat
American Redstart
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Baltimore Oriole
Orchard Oriole
Blue Grosbeak
Blue-headed Vireo
and several Catbirds.
A total of 62 species were found during the morning. Following the
birding, the group convened at the home of Nancy and Marty O'Connor for a
delicious breakfast.
