After 5 days birding the mountains of Virginia and West Virginia, came back to find Ft. Bayard nicely birdy this morning (Word to the wise--if you want to bird the higher elevations this year, wait a bit! It's dead up there now, though the lower parts of the Piedmont were good.). Nothing exciting today, but migration has moved along a bit here.

3 new arrivals have come in since my last visit: Eastern Wood-Pewee, American Redstart (2 adult males, one singing), and Blackpoll Warbler (1 heard). No Yellow-rumps or Blue-headed Vireo today.

Others:
2 Chestnut-sided Warbler (1 male and 1 female)
2 Cedar Waxwings
Baltimore Oriole (singing male)
