Earlier this afternoon Steve was showing me some short cuts that I can take to walk from where I live down to Wilde Lake. We took a little walk at the lake and on a small sand bar there we saw 2 or 3 Least Sandpipers, and I was really surprised when I saw 2 Semipalmated Plovers. I never thought that those birds could be so close to where I live. I was thinking when we first got there that there will probably not be anything 'good' at Wilde Lake this time of year. I'm glad that I was wrong. There were also a few Spotted Sandpipers there.
