Usually the most reliable place to see an eastern Maryland migrant is to head to the western part of the state, where many of those birds breed. According to the Yellow Book, Golden-winged Warblers breed in Garrett, Allegany, and Washington Counties. My favorite locale for seeing and hearing these birds on territory is Mt. Nebo WMA, on U.S. 219, north of MD 135, in Garrett County. Admittedly this is a long drive but well worth the trip! Check DeLorme 65 D-5.5

Best of luck, Stephen, and happy birthday.
