The Swainson's Warbler that showed up at the MOS conference in Solomons
last year stuck around for a while. Long enough for most everyone who
needed it for their MD list to tick it, anyway. Jane and I as well as
Arlene Ripley have been back there this year looking/listening in vain
for its return. There's plenty of good habitat in Calvert county at
either the American Chestnut Land Trust, Flag Ponds or Calvert Cliffs
State Park. There just aren't that many birders in southern Maryland to
scour the area for them if they were to be there. Same goes for St.
Mary's county (habitat/birders).
