OOOOH, just what Maryland needs! Another resort! People will flock to it to
enjoy the pristine conditions next to Blackwater. A short time passes and
there will be more fast food restaurants and shopping centers (of which half
of the stores must be empty!) Traffic jams, urban blight and pollution in
the run off from all the roads and lawns. In the end all will lament the
loss of the area's quiet beauty and remark how much better it was "before."
But, citizens, be of good cheer! Your trusty politicians and developers will
find yet another patch of Eden to improve.

Okay, I'm sorry to rant because I don't wish to offend. I get a little
worked up, though, because I see the same sort of thing here in Washington
County where Antietam National Battlefield will one day (in the not too
distant future) be an island a sea of MacMansions. Smart growth my #@&*!
Oops, I'm ranting again.
