Finally got a chance to see the BBWD today. The bird was still there and
very easy to spot. It stayed close to the bridge amid the other
waterfowl, where people were feeding it bread. The bird was also very
easy to photograph. We rented a pddle boat at the other end of the lake
and paddled out to where the bird was. We got some good shots that way.
Aside from the BBWD, the other birds weren't that bad either. Mainly
commoners: mockingbird, house sparrow, grackle, mallard, Canada goose,
robin, mourning dove. Barn swallows were skimming for insects over the
lake's surface and would fly under the boat dock. Another cool bird was
the Cedar Waxwing, several of which were perched in a tree in the parking
lot. Best wishes to anyone else who goes for the bird (if there is anyone
who hasn't already seen it!).
