I won't post the entire summary again, but for those who might wish to keep
track, I have several additions to the Black-bellied Whistling-Duck range
analysis I posted previously. Jennifer Hanson from NJ reminded me that I had
flat-out missed the North American Birds(NAB) account of 9 birds that were in Cape
May 5/24/04. The record was accepted by the NJ Records Committee. Then
Harry LeGrand from NC told me of 5 birds seen in NC on May 16 of this year. I
had not gone to archives for the current year analysis; I simply started
scanning listserves when the MD bird appeared. Harry also filled in a July, 2005
report from NC. That prompted me to revisit NAB and I found that I had
missed the following 2005 reports: GA, 2 on 6/4, 2 on 7/27 and SC, 3 on 6/1. Now
I wonder what else I missed.
My thanks to Jennifer Hanson and Harry LeGrand for their input.
