Subject: Poplar Island Sightings from July 24, 2006

            This report is submitted on behalf of Jan Reese of Talbot
County, who continues to periodically survey the flora and fauna of Poplar
Island. 

            These sightings include the birds seen on July 24, 2006.  Some
of the birds were seen from the boat during the trip from Tilghman Island
and back. 
		Weather:  Clear in early am, partly cloudy pm ,  Temp range
78-85 degrees F

Jan also commented that the weak high pressure system of Saturday evening
(July 22) was enough to bring in over 10,500 shorebirds to the Poplar Island
site.  Extraordinary!
