After a couple errands, time to stretch the legs & to see how the other critters
are doing. Surprisingly, in shaded areas with a water outlook and a mild waft
of a breeze, it felt fairly pleasant. Birding was slow, as expected, but an oddity
did occur: an albino Rock Pigeon (someone's escaped racing pigeon?). Other-
wise, pretty humdrum:

GB Heron
G Egret
C Goose
Mallard
Wood Duck (pr., eclipse plummage)
RS Hawk
Killdeer
G&L Yel'legs
RB Gull
Rock Pigeon (albino)
M Dove
C Swift
Downy W'pkr
GC Flycatcher
Acadian Fly'r
C C'dee
WB Nuthatch
C Wren
N Mock'bird
A Robin (migrants)
BG Gnatcatcher
C Waxwing
RE Vireo
Yellow Warbler
MD Yellowthroat
RW Blackbird
N Cardinal
A Goldfinch
Chipping Sparrow
Song Sparrow

At the farthest point from the parking area, as I rounded the dike back to the
main trail return, I was overtaken by a boisterous pack of kids presumably
led by a couple of adults (who were hooting louder than the kids). As I look-
ed over my shoulder, they came down from the trail on the other side of the
Jones Falls, splashed thru the marshy area and forded the Falls at a shallow
sandy area over to my side. By shifting into double-quick walk mode, I was
able to stay ahead of the ravening pack; however, their screams followed me
all the way back to the parking area. There, a fleet of SUV'S/VANS with
motors running & airconditioning going full blast contained the waiting Moms.
Needless to say the birding was minimal on the return!
