They don't call me the Fastest Googler on the Block for nothing, Janet - although scholars (and
websites) differ on how fast an ostrich can run (different sites say 42, 43, 50, 60 mph - none of
them, of course, give a scientific reference or citation as to where their figures came from), The Bird
Almanac states that the fastest running flighted bird is, indeed, the Greater Roadrunner, clocking
(clucking?) in at 46 km/h (or 26 mph for us non-metric folks). See the site below for other bird
