Cool sighting, Tom! My home's indoor bird list includes Starling and House
Sparrow. Several pairs of each were nesting in our attic at one point, and
one of the Starlings somehow got down into the living room and was flying
about. (That's the same room where we'd discovered a 5-1/2-foot-long Black
Rat Snake a few years earlier...)

| While sitting out on the deck after dinner this evening, imagine my
suprise
| when my daughter called excitedly from indoors saying "Papa, papa, there's
a
| hummingbird in the house!" Sure enough there was a female or immature
| Ruby-throated Huummingbird flitting about the family room. How the bird
| entered the house remains a mystery since all of the windows are screened.
| It must have made it's way in through an open door. Fortunately I was
able
| to catch it quickly with a butterfly net and release it ourdoors. The
| hummer is my first entry on my new indoor bird list.
