I briefly birded part of the Ten Mile Creek section of Black Hill this
afternoon. Highlights included an immature or female Hooded Warbler, a
fall-plumaged Chestnut-sided Warbler, a Northern Parula, and lovely
looks at a Yellow-billed Cuckoo. Other birds included two Eastern
Kingbirds, several Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, two Hermit Thrushes and a
Wood Thrush. At least two older Northern Cardinal fledglings were still
begging from their parents.
I also had an immature or female American Redstart at Little Bennett
earlier this week.
