Everyone,
I'm so sorry for the mistype -- my report should have read Swainson's
thrushes rather than Hermit thrushes. I was talking to someone about
thrushes while composing my e-mail, and apparently I got my wires
crossed. Usually I double-check and even triple-check my posts -- this
will teach me never to send one off in a hurry. :) Thanks to everyone
who caught it so quickly.
I know it's clearly on the early side of migration even for Swainson's
thrushes, but I know these guys well (having seen decent numbers of
Veeries, Hermits, and Swainson's in the field, and having banded all
three species as well as Grey-cheeked thrushes). Both thrushes were
foraging rather close to a Wood Thrush, and I got a good look at those
buffy spectacles as well as the general overall impression of color and
spotting on the breast, etc.
Again, my apologies.
Jessica Maggio (who promises to triple-check evey post in the future)
