Hi again,

Lisa and I arrived at the Hughes Road polo fields this
morning around 7 am in the wind and rain, finding
ourselves the only people there for a while. We were
joined by several folks during the next four hours or
so, some of whom have posted their sightings.

Lisa and I saw

1 UPLAND SANDPIPER
2 BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS
2 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS
2 Least Sandpipers
1 Pectoral Sandpiper (maybe more)
a flock of Horned Larks
all six normal swallow species

The Uppie came fairly close to us at one point,
allowing us to study it for several minutes. The
Buffies didn't come as close, but when they were in
the really short grass we were able to admire them as
well.

The morning definitely improved when the rain stopped.
It was fun to be out there and to see all the other
birders. It just has been a remarkable 26 hours for
me.

Best,

Rob Hilton
