Thanks to Jon Dunn, who was birding in the District of Columbia this 
morning with Jonathan Alderfer and Sherman Suter, I was able to see 
an Upland Sandpiper mid-morning, species # 230 in the District for 
me.  Jon pointed out the bird, which was calling loudly as it flew 
east over the Hains Point golf course and Washington Channel.

The four of us later birded Anacostia Park and Kenilworth Aquatic 
Gardens without seeing anything really unusual, although Jon kept 
adding species to his D.C. list.
