A Common Nighthawk flying over my home last night reminded me to post the
following... RFK isn't the only spot with a good Nighthawk show.

I've been up at the LDS Temple (often referred to as the "Mormon" Temple, in
Kensington right above Beltway/Rock Creek Park) each of the last two Fridays
and seen 6-8 Common Nighthawks flying in the light above the Temple. I
suspect that the lights that are illuminating the temple are making it even
easier for the Nighthawks to find a meal.

I've been up there around 9:30pm, though I suspect that they show up at dusk
or very shortly thereafter. If you haven't seen any nighthawks around (as I
hadn't prior to last Friday) the Temple appears to be a pretty reliable spot
and is also a beautiful place to visit.
