 Hi Folks!

I arrived in the Clear Springs area of Washington County about 2:30 AM and hoped for a night flight. The total until dawn was 1 Veery and 1 Swainson's Thrush. At dawn there was a flurry of calling: Swainsons' Thrush 40, Wood Thrush 12, Veery 12, Gray-cheeked Thrush 3, and a few Scarlet Tanagers and Rose-breasted Grosbeaks.

A few hours walking the area by Blair's Valley Lake yielded:

American Woodock 1
Eastern Screech Owl 1
Ruby-throated Hummingbird 8
Eastern Wood-Pewee 2
Eastern Phoebe 4
White-eyed Vireo 6
House Wren 8
Gray Catbird 12
Northern Parula 1
Chestnut-sided Warbler 1
Magnolia Warbler 3
American Redstart 4
CONNECTICUT WARBLER 1 imm.
Common Yellowthroat 14
Canada Warbler 1
Rose-breasted Grosbeak 6
Indigo Bunting 14
Bobolink 8

a few stops heading west along Catholic Church Road had:

Philadelphia Vireo 1
Red-eyed Vireo 1
Black-throated Green Warbler 4
Chestnut-sided Warber 1
Cape May Warbler 2
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1
Eastern Phoebe 5 and a migrating Osprey

the overgrown fields/hedgerows near the Indian Springs Fishing Pond on Mooresville Road were good:

Northern Waterthrush
1 American Redstart 1
CONNECTICUT WARBLER 1 imm.
Yellow-bellied Flycatcher 1
Ruby-throated Hummingbird 4
Swainson's Thrush 2
Veery 1
Wood Thrush 3
American Robin 20
Cedar Waxwing 20
Brown Thrasher 2
Gray Catbird 8
Baltimore Oriole 1

the rest of the day I birded the area from Hancock to Sidling hill, but it was extremely slow, the only obvious migrant was a single American Redstart.

Good Birding!

Jim
