    The first of the "not golf-course Geese" Canada Geese found their way to
Leeds Creek this morning. With different call sounds and different action
patterns, these geese make it clear that they are not the locals. The
sequence:  a lone goose lit on the creek and started a continuous call;
within a few minutes three more geese dropped out of the sky and lit near
the first one; and then these were joined by a family group of five that
came swimming upstream on the creek. The group, now nine, proceeded to
make themselves right at home here - honking a bit at the 30 Mallards that
loiter here - then moving to the shoreline to do a bit of preening.
