Imagine my surprise when, having seen my first-ever
CONNECTICUT WARBLER this morning at Rock Creek Park with a
large band of helpful birders, I found another one this
afternoon at Lake Artemesia (in Berwyn Heights, near College
Park, PG County)! This bird, an adult judging from the
darker contrasting face compared to the immature seen this
morning, was warily making its way through the underbrush
between the path and the water on the east side of the lake.
Wow! Keep an eye out tomorrow...

Checklist diary notes:
A beautiful afternoon at the lake, a bit on the cool side. I
spent the first half hour or so reading, not birding
intently. Surprising highlight was my second Connecticut
Warbler ever, and on the same day! This was an adult (dark
face contrasting with yellow underparts, and a bold unbroken
eyering) -- it was skulking like the bird I saw this morning
at Rock Creek Park: moving slowly through the underbrush
between the path and the lake, on the east side.
