Another nice day at the park in D.C., plenty of warblers
(though no Connecticut by the time I left). My list is
below (featuring 10 warblers: NORTHERN PARULA,
CHESTNUT-SIDED, MAGNOLIA, BLACK-THROATED GREEN,
BLACKBURNIAN, BLACKPOLL, BLACK-AND-WHITE, AMERICAN REDSTART,
COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, and HOODED WARBLER) . Others I believe
saw TENNESSEE, BLACK-THROATED BLUE, and BAY-BREASTED
WARBLER, if not more.

Of particular interest today for me was the woodpecker
variety: all the ones you might expect to see (including
YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER), except Red-headed unfortunately!

Checklist diary notes:
Great day at the park (clear, cool, calm; thin high cloud
developing). Several new species for the season: Northern
Parula, Blackburnian Warbler and Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.
Did well with woodpeckers in general. The warbler sp. was
very plain: gray above, pale below, no clear sign of
wingbars (the bird was far and high), suggestion of eyeline.
