Hi all,
I spent another fine morning looking for (and finding) migrants at
Meadowside today. I figured birds would be on the move last night and it appears they
were. Lots of activity right out of the parking lot with Rose-breasted
Grosbeaks (2) in the pawlonia trees, a single Blue-headed Vireo, as well as many
Chestnut-sided Warblers, Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Magnolia, Parula, Black &
Whites there too. as well as Scarlet Tanager.

Further along I had my first White-throated Sparrow for the season in the
first meadow before the small pond. Behind the pond, in the marshy area were a
pair of hummingbirds feeding on jewelweed and cardinal flowers.

The Pioneer Site meadow held lots of activity too: Black-throated Greens,
Tennessee, A. Redstarts, more maggies and Chestnut-sided, along with a trio of
Swainson's Thrushes, Red-eyed Vireos, Blackburnian, more kinglets and
Tennessee's, and Eastern Wood Pewee.

Along the BP trail I had a very nice pocket of activity including
Blue-headed, Philadelphia and Red-eyed Vireos, Veery and Wood Thrush, in a mixed
group along with chickadees and titmice, Carolina and House Wrens.

About 51 or so species along with Osprey, Kingfisher, and some other common
species.
