Highlight: Peregrine Falcon flyover at Viers Mill Picnic Area. Headed West
towards Rockville.
Hi Diane,
I wondered when you saw the Peregrine?
I was sitting outside my shop yesterday eating my lunch and reading a book
(it was way too nice to be inside) when I heard the distant and distinct kek
kek kek of a low flying falcon. Suddenly a large Peregrine appeared coming
from the NE (roughly) and heading SW, carrying some prey item (looked like a
large bird). In my surprise, I sort of stood and stared, then quickly opened my
van and grabbed my bins out from their bag, catching a quick glimpse as the
bird flew off, still calling! It was quite amazing, considering my shop is so
close to the beltway near Walter Reed Army Medical Center annex on
Brookville Rd.in Silver Spring. This was shortly before 1PM.
The highlight of my day!
