This morning as I was sitting outside my home (deciduous hardwoods, low growing Dogwood and shrubs) I saw a warbler with a very prominent eye ring. Fall warblers can be a task for me. How likely, given the date and habitat, that I saw a Connecticut? Or a Nashville? I was able to identify a Chesnut-Sided a few seconds later.
We do have Kinglets in the yard occasionally, but I'm almost certain that this was a warbler. The "jizz" was all wrong for it to be a Kinglet. |
