Hi all --

Overall, a rather slow morning at Rock Creek Park DC (not a great migratory night) but nevertheless some good birds were seen. We started in the Maintenance Yard which was nowhere as birdy as yesterday, many of the sparrows and Yellowthroats had vanished, to be replaced by a host of Ruby-Crowned Kinglets. Warblers were few and far between. The highlight was an adult female CONNECTICUT WARBLER (quite probably the same one as was seen yesterday as it flushed from the exact same spot near the Palownia Tree) which sat out in full sunlight on a vine for good but brief views. The same vine hosted a GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH which showed well for everyone. Still a great many Robins, Catbirds, Flickers and more thrushes than in previous days.

Warblers: Black-and-White (1), Blackpoll (1), Connecticut (1), Magnolia (2), Redstart (2), Tennessee (1), Yellowthroat (8).

Other migrants: Sapsucker (3), Wood-pewee (1), Phoebe (3), Blue-headed Vireo (2), Red-eyed Vireo (5), Scarlet Tanager (6-8), Rose-breasted Grosbeak (6), Swainson's Thrush (6), Wood Thrush (1), Gray-cheeked Thrush (1), Ruby-crowned Kinglet (~20), Golden-crowned Kinglet (2), Indigo Bunting (5), White-throated Sparrow (~25), Song Sparrow (~10), Field Sparrow (1), Chipping Sparrow (2), Swamp Sparrow (3), House Wren (10), Winter Wren (1)
