A "gortexed" group of birders turned out for the sparrow walk today. The first hour+ was quite miserable but persistence paid off. We started at Meadowbrook where the rain kept the sparrows down. We did find a single CHIPPING SPARROW, JUNCO and WHITE-THROAT. There were 16-20 SAVANNAH SPARROWS in the short grass. 2 WHITE-CROWNS and a few SONGS and SWAMPS.

We then headed to Mt. Pleasant and the rain stopped. There were found 4 of our target LINCOLN'S SPARROWS! We had good numbers of other sparrows-
6- FIELD
60- SONG
30-SWAMPS
10- WHITE-THROATS
2- WHITE-CROWNS

Other notable birds were- NORTHERN HARRIER (2), OSPREY (3), BLACK-THROATED GREEN (1), BLUE GROSBEAK (1).
