I took a break from working this afternoon, when I thought there was a
break from the rain. Since most of my walk is within 50 yards of either
Rt. 29 or Brokenland Parkway, I did not think I would not see much in
the way of birds. Both of my thoughts were wrong: rain, and lots of
birds. I suspect that the birds were drawn to the profusion of berries
on the mile-a-minute vines under the power lines, as I saw multiple
birds eating the blue berries. The sparrows have arrived.

Bald Eagle -- flying north, west of Rt 29
Wood Ducks -- 15 (in the big pool in the Rt 29-Brokenland cloverleaf)
Phoebes -- 5
Ruby-Crowned Kinglets -- 5
Palm Warbler -- 2
Black-Throated Blue Warbler -- 2
Black-Throated Green Warbler
Magnolia Warbler
Yellowthroats -- 10 or more! They were everywhere
Indigo Bunting -- 2
White-Throated Sparrows
Song Sparrows
Field Sparrows
Junco -- 1

plus the usual suspects...
