Hi all

I had a chance to go East today.

Highlights:

Ocean City inlet
Six peeps flew in with some Ruddy Turnstones on to the rocks. I wanted to
make them into purples but I had no chance with these least sandpipers.
One Black-bellied Plover on the beach beyond the rocks.
I saw several waves of flying ducks, and one raft of surf scoters. Mostly,
the ducks were too far out to identify.
Yellow-rumped warblers climbing on the rocks beside the turnstones
Forsters and Royal Terns
A Winter Wren near the motel

4th Street Flats
Several immature Brown Pelicans
Nice looks (and photos) of American Oystercatchers

West Pond
Pintail
Shovelor
Gadwall
Coot
Pied-billed Grebe
Ruddy Ducks
Mallards
Wigeons
Many Canadas

Assateague

- Ranger Station
Large flocks of tree swallows
Savannah Sparrow (It was pretty pale - an "Ipswitch?")

- Forest Trail
Tricolored Heron
Great Egrets
Yellow-rumpeds on every other branch
Black-throated Blue (female)
Dark-eyed Juncos
White-throats
both Kinglets

- Dune Trail (& beach)
Northern Gannet (2)
White-crowned Sparrow
Chipping Sparrow

60 Species for the day, and great fun
