I noticed them on the NIH campus as well yesterday
(10/18) afternoon.  The POST had a comprehensive
article in the HOME section almost a year ago
[Invasion of the Aphid Snatchers/Swarms of a 'Good Bug
Gone Bad'  The Washington Post/Author:Adrian
Higgins/Date:Oct 27, 2005].  From what I can remember,
you don’t want to live in an isolated white house on
the top of a hill, which seems to be a magnet for
overwintering ladybugs…
