More sparrow news. Matt Hafner, Hans H., and John Hubell found a single Clay-colored Sparrow at Assateague State Park/South. The bird was associating with a flighty group of Savannahs, around the first bath house north of the nature center. They gave me a call and I was able to chase it and get some distant photos.

On the way back to the parking lot they also found a single Vesper Sparrow (more pics by MLH). Quite a spaarow day on Assateague (I count 10 species: chipping, clay-c., field, vesper, lark, savannah, song, swamp, white-thr., white-cr.)! Also had 1 Indigo Bunting (Oceanside campground, MLH) and 1 latish Bobolink (Bayside/Point, MLH and MH) earlier in day..
