Today ( 10/26/06)at around 8:30 am, 12-15 Ring-billed Gills arrived in
Eldersberg (Carroll Co) at the McDonald's adjacent to Liberty Road and Ridge
Road. I drive past this area every day going to work. It's the first arrival
of such a large group since last April. By May of 2006, all Ring-billed
Gulls in the area had left (presumably to go north to breed). In mid August,
2 arrived to scavenge the malls; next, I noticed 3-4 gulls at Home Depot on
10/23, and now today 12-15. These gulls were harassing the fish crows and
generally on their worst behavior.
