I worked right around the corner from the "big roost" in the mid to late 1990s.  It was totally destroyed  by a luxury apartment/condo development in 1997.  The crows responded by moving to smaller roosts up the road (one on the corner of Randalph Road & the Pike) and I'm sure most dispersed much farther away.

Some mornings ( I used to be a "morning person", getting to work @ 6:30 AM)  I would walk over to Federal Plaza and watch the crows foraging in the parking lots - thousands of them!  They had a good amount to eat, because that shopping center was always full of refuse that our fellow citizens threw on the ground the day before.

Corvids are my favourite birds, and every time I'm in Rockville I miss them.
