A trip to Rocky Gorge Reservoir right near our new home in
West Laurel to check the fall colours (very nice) was also
rewarded with a good flight of vultures and raptors: BLACK
VULTURE, TURKEY VULTURE, BALD EAGLE, COOPER'S HAWK, and
RED-TAILED HAWK. No sign of the Osprey that I usually see
here. I guess conditions are very good for soaring birds
today. Full report below:

Report Details

Total # of species: 21

Checklist diary notes:
Blustery but warm, with breaks of sunshine. Lots of vultures
and raptors riding the winds, one unidentified hawk in a
steep dive. The Downy/Hairy was heard only. The strong
breeze made passerines harder to hear/find. May have heard
White-throated Sparrow (call note).
