I wrote ot Mon, 17 Jul 2006, the following:

"The score is now Mother Nature 2 - Beavers 0. The dam the beavers rebuilt 
this past winter/spring to maintain the water level in Oxbow Lake was 
destroyed by the recent rains/flooding."

Well, the score is now Mother Nature 3 - Beavers 0. The dams the beavers 
built since the heavy rains at the end of June, were blown out again. The 
heavy rains of last week caused the Little Patuxent River to back up into the 
lake. The force of the water retreating from lake destroyed the dams once 
again. The water level is very low again.

The good news is that Trumpeter Swan #960 was back on the lake this 
morning.
