I've talked with several birders about carrying bird recordings into the field to aid in identification, but have not got any consensus as to what was the best option.  With Christmas coming up, I thought this might be a good thing to put on my list.  Am looking for a system that is fairly simple, quick to operate and rugged enough to be carried in the field.  Any recommendations on what I should ask for?  Comments on or off line would be greatly appreciated.
