Parke John and I did a bit of a Eastern Shore run this morning.
The Eagles Nest Campground did have a large amount of American Widgeon.
There was One Adult Male Eurasian Widgeon mixed in the flock.
On the ORV zone we did have All three Scoters, with White-winged in real
close. Also 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull
At Ocean City The Peregrine Falcon was on the water Tower. At the inlet
there was a Black Scoter feeding at out feet, 15 plus Purple Sandpipers on the
other side of the inlet, a good flock of Ruddy Turnstones, 1 Long-tailed Duck,
Lots of Brant. I did have what I believe was a brief look at a King Eider. If it
was, it was a Female. I am not 100% sure, so I am not calling it. It was on
the other side of the rocks. Look for it if you go.
Hooper’s Restaurant flats, was exposed pretty well. There were lots of
Oystercatchers, Dunlin, Sanderlings, Black-bellied Plover, and Forsters Terns.
Many other birds, but no time to mention.
