While Gwen and I were at the Tropical Kingbird sight in Trinity, Maryland
yesterday the bird sang and called quite a bit. Maybe the warm weather. I
have seen maybe over 1000 Tropical Kingbirds and this bird sounded very much
like the ones south of the border. It did not sound like the Couch's I
listened to and photographed in Texas last April.

My 2 cents worth.

George

No question about ID. Call diagnostic. Photos reviewed by experts (Michael
O'Brien) and he feels structure and bill shape support Tropical. M.

This is a very nicely colored bird. Are we sure it is not the very similar
Couch's, which I saw in S Texas?
Hate to beat the dead horse, but when birds with "Tropical" in their
name start showing up here in December ... Wonder how long it will be before
my home here in Carroll County will be beach front property.
