unusual January sighting...

Ok, not a bird, but....this has to be a January first for me, this afternoon we had a Honeybee (yes, Apis mellifera, not a hornet or bumblebee) collecting pollen from our winter-blooming camelias. Talk about crazy weather!

On  the bird side, a pile of Mourning Dove feathers under one of the pine trees probably means the local Cooper's Hawk (a fine adult, male by size) has struck again!
