I visited Schoolhouse Pond in Upper Marlboro yesterday. In addition to Trumpeter #962 and
the usual geese and gulls, there were about 20 Red-Breasted Mergansers diving and
splashing around, and one female Common Merganser and a pair of Shovelers in the
shallows of the far shore. Good birding.
