Greetings all:

In addition to large numbers of Canada Geese, Ring-billed Gulls, Great 
Black-backed Gulls, and Mallards, quick trips to the waters in and around 
our Nation's Capital yielded the following:

Saturday, 1/27/07
Hains Point (2:30 pm)
Lesser Scaup -- 25 near the shore; large raft off Ft. McNair shimmering in 
the heat waves
American Wigeon -- 2

McMillan Reservoir (5:30 pm)
Pied-billed Grebe -- 4
Ring-necked Duck -- 2

Sunday, 1/28/07
Washington Channel (7:30 am)
Lesser Scaup -- 7
Pied-billed Grebe -- 1
Double-crested Cormorant -- 2

Tidal Basin (7:50)
Red-breasted Merganser -- 1
Common Merganser -- 1
Pied-billed Grebe -- 1

Roosevelt Island (8:30)
Black-crowned Night Heron -- 1
Pied-billed Grebe -- 4
