Greetings to all of you MD birders,

Herb Wilson (Colby College Biology Department Head) and I are putting together a Maine birding trip similar to one we did in June 2003 for the Anne Arundel Bird Club. As of this email, there is at least one opening left to be filled so I am opening the trip to all MD birders. The dates for this trip are from June 16 thru June 24, 2007 which is prime nesting time here (and not too cold). We will be visiting several new places, possibly Monhegan Island, and some of the same places as last time. The itinerary, which we will be putting together in the next month or two, will be provided at a later date. The cost of the trip will be determined after that time. The pickup and drop-off point for the trip will be the Manchester, NH airport which can be reached via Southwest Airlines for a very reasonable rate. We are limiting the number of participants to a total of 8 including myself and Herb. We could possibly squeeze in one more. Reservations will be taken by myself on a first-come, first serve basis with a waiting list in case of cancellations. You can contact me, Al Haury, by phone at 207-465-7236 or.by email at to reserve a spot.

The cost of the trip in 2003 was $1125 based on double occupancy. This did not include breakfasts, dinners and air transportation to and from Manchester. I would expect the cost will be somewhat higher due to normal cost increases and the price of gas but this should give you some idea what it would be.

For those interested, I have a 3 part report of our 2003 trip put together by Herb which, if requested, I will email to you directly.
