I often take Route 274 (not 273) southeast out of Rising Sun on the way
to my parents' place on the Elk river. I remember on Christmas day there
was a huge flock of blackbirds roughly 2-4 miles east of Rising Sun.
There is plenty of shoulder space to pull off the road there. It is an
area of large fields and farms that would seem to have potential for
nice little field birds too. I have not checked it out too much because
I'm usually running late when I pass through there. So that might be an
area for Yellow-headed Blackbird seekers to check out. Route 274 heads
SE out of Rising Sun in the direction of Northeast, MD but ends on Rt
272 just north of I-95. Wilson Rd starts on Rt 274, heading north across
Rt 273 to Penna.
