Hi All,
If I recall from driving through there on Sunday(I was unaware of the
blackbirds), there is no shoulder to pull off on and places to pull out or
park were non-existent. There was a fair bit of traffic on the road for a
Sunday. I had no blackbirds on Sunday, I was driving slow and stopping from
time to time. I was only able to get two wheels off the road, I never got
out of my car on Wilson road, for the simple reason that the area is not
well suited for that kind of birding. Nice area though. It reminded me of
Washington County, good looking habitat with no where to stop.
Blackbird flocks are highly mobile, so the chance of catching up with a
flock at this time of year is unlikely. I know there have been many attempts
to relocate the Yellow-headed Blackbird in Dorchester County this winter,
and as far as I know everyone has come up empty.
