I took a little hike through Elm's Beach Friday before Saturday's Pax River
count.
Nothing too exciting, but here's the lowdown-

"Slate Colored" Juncos - galore
Ring-billed, Herring Gulls - scarce smattering
Oldsquaw (er...Long-tailed Ducks)
Buffleheads
Goldeneyes
Common Loon
Copious Canada Geese
Winter Wren
Flickers (two on the stroll in to the beach)
Song Sparrows
Cardinals
Robins
Turkey Vultures
Great Blue Heron
Great Horned Owl (heard- I answered that I usually cook for myself)

and a small group of friendly little Sanderling round out the list.

there are a few pics of the Sanderlings on

if you're so inclined

Feliz birding!
Matt
