   There is a prior February report of Spotted Sandpiper, on 2/28/98 at Little Seneca Lake by Norm Saunders. Concerning the possibility of Common Sandpiper, my only winter sighting of Spotted Sand in Maryland was on the Annapolis CBC of 1/5/86. We eliminated Common Sand that day because the bird had rather bright yellow legs.
   By the way, the previous reports of the Cackling Geese at Cumberland put them in West Virginia. Where did you see the birds?
