Hi everyone,

Got out for a little birding in Cumberland this evening. The Potomac was
frozen above the dam, and the open water lasted for about 3/4 of a mile
below it. The area was loaded with waterfowl!
I had 4 Cackling Geese on the grass across the river in West Virginia among
hundreds of Canada's whose flock stretched across the river and up onto the
bank on the Maryland side.

Common Goldeneye 14
Hooded Merganser 25
Common Merganser 1
Herring Gull 2
Ring-billed Gull 4
Mallard Lots
Canada Goose 300+
Cackling (Richardson's) Goose 4
Ring-necked Duck 1
Redhead 4
Canvasback 16
Bufflehead 40
Lesser Scaup 1
Cooper's Hawk 1
American Kestrel 1
American Black Duck 2
American Coot 6

Good Birding!
