This morning we held a "rarity search". Since there were few reports of interest we decided to try to find our own.
A very successful outing and beautiful day.
Centennial Park had a nice collection of waterfowl. (COMMON MERGANSERS, BUFFLEHEAD, CANVASBACKS, RING-NECKED and RUDDY DUCKS, AMERICAN COOTS and LESSER SCAUP).
We then headed to the farm fields and found 12+ HORNED LARKS, 3 SAVANNAH SPARROWS and a KESTREL.
Mount Pleasant had a busy spot near the newly installed bird feeders. FOX and AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS were in the hedgerows and fields. A BROWN CREEPER, TOWHEE and second KESTREL were nice to see. All the expected woodland and feeder birds were swarming around the feeders.
