   I covered several areas in the county today with Richard Wood. A few new waterfowl showed signs of migration. Also, a small flock of grackles at home were the first here since the snow.

Farm Pond on Study Road:

Canada Goose  95
Mallard  65
Pintail  1 female
Ring-necked Duck  3 males
Goldeneye  1 female
Hooded Merganser  8

Roads west of Taneytown:

Common Merganser  5 on the Monocacy River near Keysville
Kestrel  5 scattered individuals
Horned Lark  30 in one flock in the middle of  John Shirk Road
Winter Wren  1 at Sixes Bridge on the Frederick Co. side
Robin  1 on John Shirk Road
Myrtle Warbler  1 at Sixes Bridge
Tree Sparrow  1 or 2 at Sixes Bridge
White-crowned Sparrow  1 adult on Bear Run Road

Piney Run Park where the lake is still 99% frozen:
